The 16 types are missing two traits.
Here are all 64.

The classic four-letter test misses two of the best-studied traits in psychology: how you handle stress (Emotional Stability) and how sincere and status-driven you are (Honesty-Humility). We measure all six and show where you stand against real people, not just which box you fit.

What makes this different

Scientific traits, familiar letters

Your four letters map onto Big Five traits that research has linked to the classic E/I, N/S, F/T and J/P scales. The two extra letters add traits the classic test leaves out.

Real percentiles

Scores are compared with large public datasets (N≈19,700 and N≈22,800), so “high” means higher than most people, not just above the middle of the scale.

Honest about borderlines

Close to average on a trait? We tell you, and show which type you might get on a retest. That is the main reason type tests seem to “change”.

Questions

Is the test really free?

Yes. The 62-question test and your full type report (six trait percentiles, career, love, friendship, wellbeing and growth notes, with sources) are free, with no sign-up and no email.

How is this different from the 16-type tests?

Four-letter tests sort you into boxes. We measure six continuous traits and compare you with real norm samples, so you get a percentile for every trait, not just a letter. Your first four letters map onto the four Big Five traits that research links to the classic scales. The two extra letters add Emotional Stability and Honesty-Humility, which the classic test leaves out. We are not affiliated with the Myers-Briggs Company or 16Personalities.

How long does it take?

About 8 minutes for 62 short statements. Your answers save on your device after every tap, so you can close the page and pick up where you left off.

How accurate is it?

The six scales have internal reliabilities (Cronbach’s α) between .79 and .89 in the norm samples, which is good for a short test. Every trait within 10 percentile points of average is flagged as borderline, with the type you might get on a retest. Treat the result as a well-measured self-description, not a diagnosis.

Why did my type change when I retook a personality test?

Usually because one or more traits sit near the middle, where small day-to-day changes in how you answer flip the letter. That is why we show percentiles and flag borderline traits instead of pretending the cut-off is sharp.

Where do the questions and norms come from?

All items come from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). The free test is scored against open datasets of about 19,700 (Big Five) and 22,800 (HEXACO) people. The Deep Report’s facet norms come from 410,376 respondents to the IPIP-NEO-120.

What happens to my answers?

They are scored in your browser and stored only on your device. There is no account. Your result link contains just your six percentile scores, and it is only shared if you share it.

What is the Deep Report?

A second, 116-question test that measures 29 facets of the Big Five, such as Assertiveness, Orderliness and Anxiety. It shows your most distinctive facets and your hidden splits: places where one facet breaks sharply from the rest of its trait.
